How we work across all engagements
Every Teratai engagement begins the same way — with a conversation we don't bill for. We want to understand what you're working with before we agree on a scope, because fitting the right engagement to the right moment matters more than closing quickly.
Our process is document-centred. We use the written word as both a tool for thinking and a record of thinking. This means that written notes come out of every session, and the final output is always something you can read on your own without needing us to translate it.
We work at a considered pace. For shorter engagements this means we take the time to understand properly before we write. For longer ones it means we build in review cycles — we revisit what we've written, test it against new information, and revise where revision is warranted.
Across all engagements, you deal with the same advisor throughout. Context doesn't get lost between sessions, and the relationship that develops is part of what makes the work useful.

First Draft
A single engagement for owners who have ideas, intentions, or concerns — but haven't yet found a way to put them into a clear, written form. We listen carefully, ask the questions that help organise scattered thinking, and produce a concise, usable first draft of a plan.
Suited to owners who are starting out, making a significant change, or simply finding that important decisions keep being deferred because nothing is written down yet.

Considered Revision
A five-week engagement for business owners who have already formed a direction — a pricing model, a positioning approach, a service offer — but want a structured, external review before they commit to it further.
We examine what you have, ask the questions that tend to reveal assumptions you may not have noticed, and offer measured edits — not a complete replacement of your thinking, but a careful refinement of it.

A six-month advisory relationship for owners who want a steady, patient presence alongside them through a significant period — a product launch, a restructure, a new market, or simply a season where the decisions feel heavier than usual.
We act as an ongoing editor for your business thinking — present at regular intervals, available for written correspondence between sessions, and alert to the patterns and risks that accumulate over time.
- Monthly one-hour advisory session (6 sessions total)
- Quarterly written reviews of your business plan and progress
